FSS21: Future Sound Collection (Compilation)
This time as a 21st release we proudly present our first label collection. In this release, you will hear various artists who have already released or will release their music under our flag. Future Sound Collection is not only a collection of individual pieces. Firstly, it is a representation of our constantly growing community and mutual friendship.
Future Sound Collection contains 14 original compositions from very promising artists and bands like Auren, Monikaze, Ambulance On Fire, Marius Dan, Jaroška, ABrokenLeg, Quark Effect, The Last 2 Brain Cells, Artfcl, Phun Thomas, L8M8.
Every artist is one way or another connected to FSS Recordings. However, they all have their distinctive backgrounds and therefore unique approaches to music. With this release, we kindly invite you to meet our close friends and colleagues.
Auren is an electronic music solo project by Vilnius-based producer Andrius Grinevskis. This name always guarantees quality and will never let his listener down. Auren is a true artist who never stops searching for new sounds, ideas, and ways to incorporate his music into other art forms. In this release, you will hear Auren in collaboration with Jaroška with their piece “Tauro Kalnas” and a remix for Artfcl – Together Apart.
Monikaze is a young Lithuanian talent who is constantly pushing the limits of electronic music. Monikaze (Monika Zenkevičiūtė) is a versatile composer and artist who has finished her bachelor's degree in the composition field at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. Her music is full of experimentation which is inspired by IDM, Ambient, Jazz, and other styles which together create unique Monikaze sound. This time you will hear two Monikaze remixes for Artfcl pieces “Heaven Behind Those Eyes” and “The Turn”.
Quark Effect is the newest member of our family. Lithuanian-Irish trio born in Scotland (Kornelijus Pukinskis – alto saxophone, Dominykas Snarskis – drums, Ronan Whittern – electronics) focuses on experimental practice with sounds of acoustic instruments and electronics and are constantly looking for different approaches to create music. The music is inspired by the philosophy of theoretical physics (general relativity and quantum mechanics), the sincerity of human feelings, and exceptional life moments, events, items, and remarkable stories. This time you will hear a remix for their piece “To Do Things Eventually” made by electronic music producer Phun Thomas.
Phun Thomas (Andrius Laucevičius) is a top-notch electronic music composer, producer and live performer from Lithuania, who goes deep into Techno, Breakbeat, Ambient. The artist is never afraid to experiment with his works in many different areas like genre, technique, sound design. In this collection you will hear Phun Thomas collaboration with Artfcl named “Fire”, his own original compositions “On A Trip”, “Ray”, and remixes for Quark Effect – “To Do Things Eventually” and ABrokenLeg – “Tom Valandom”. Also, the closing piece of this collection is made by Phun Thomas’ other alter ego L8M8.
Ambulance On Fire is one of the most enjoyable discoveries of this year for FSS Recordings team. Two young musicians from Lithuania (Jūra Elena Šedytė – vocals, electronics, and Mėta Gabrielė Pelegrimaitė – flute, bass, electronics) combine such music genres like IDM, Ambient, Alternative, Breakbeat, Post-Rock, Synth-Pop, Experimental by using improvisational music techniques as a basis for the creation. Here we bring one of their debut album pieces “I Will Never”.
The Last 2 Brain Cells is the initiative of two young Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre contemporary music graduates. Both performers (Klaudija Indriliūnaitė – guitar, effects, objects, and Matas Samulionis – saxophone, synthesizer) combine their musical experience and knowledge and export it through an electro-acoustic experimental prism. In this release, you will hear the piece “Legosonic” which was remixed by Phun Thomas.
Artfcl is an idea that perfectly reflects current times, where the boundary between the living and digital or electronic worlds sometimes disappears. Artfcl was formed in January 2020 by two peers Andrius Laucevičius and Matas Samulionis. This release is a wonderful opportunity to be the first to hear their yet unreleased piece from electro-acoustic ballet “Newborn” named “Love Theme”.
ABrokenLeg is an Avant-garde, Pop, Retro, Future Punk, Dance, Rock band from Vilnius. Their leader is Aistė Motiejūnaitė – a dynamic artist who is a professional singer-songwriter, actor, performer. Phun Thomas’ remix for their piece “Tom Valandom” will be your next favorite song.
Marius Dan is an extraordinary producer from Lithuania. His music is yet to come into FSS Recordings discography, however, this time you will be able to hear one of his upcoming album pieces “Bones, Guns & Monsters”.
All in all, Future Sound Collection is a unique and multi-genre collection in which anyone can find something they love.
